The Feminist Minds: Two Years of Collected Essay from Magdalene

Saying that book is the window of the world is couldn’t be more right. Because that is exactly what you will achieve by reading. This represents of how reading The Feminist Minds feel. Reading and getting into the mind of various perspective on certain things certainly changes and open your mind to a lot of things.

The Feminist Minds brings unprecedented views from various fields, from society, culture, sexual orientation and many more. At times, it’s hard not to nod and agreeing with what the story tells you. Magdalene’s goal of publishing The Feminist Minds itself is to appreciate those who have shared “their stories and voiced their thoughts, pouring out their hearts and minds courageously in an increasingly conservative society that can be hostile to divergent perspective and unconventional outlooks.”

From issues of Womanhood, Gender and Feminism, Faith and Identity, Relationship, Gender and Sexuality to Leisure and Culture, you can find all sort of views and new perspective from people’s take on their life and others. If I can share some of my favorite essays, it would be:

  • A Childless Life: How I Spend My Abundant Free Time
  • The Day I Found Out I’m 34D, Not C and Definitely Not B
  • Till Faith do Us Part: Growing Up in a Bi-Religious Home
  • The Two-Dad Family: Raising a Child in Conservative Indonesia
  • Three, Four’s a Crowd in Marriage

Those are some of the essays that stuck with me and couldn’t help at times to nod and cheers to them. During this #stayathome time, what could be better than reading and get new perspective on things?
